Foot traffic

Foot traffic counts are being undertaken within entertainment precincts. People entering these entertainment precincts are counted via the use of a wireless sensor. The sensor captures WiFi signals from a person's phone, and records the total number of people with their phone's WiFi switched on in a particular area at a given time. We are also using an infra-red counter to count the number of people who walk past a particular area within entertainment precincts.
