Economic evaluation

A comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of the Queensland alcohol policy is being undertaken. This analysis utilises a number of data sources to determine the estimated savings in health care costs, increased amenity for neighbourhoods, income gained by non-alcohol business, and productivity gained due to reduced assaults and injuries. It also estimates the loss of revenue to licensed premises, loss of income to the alcohol industry, and loss of local government revenue.
